Do I qualify?
You may be entitled to wayleave payments or compensation if electricity infrastructure—such as pylons, poles, or underground cables—is located on your land. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
✅ You Own the Land – You must be the legal owner of the land where the infrastructure is situated. Tenants typically do not qualify unless they hold specific long-term rights.
✅ The Infrastructure Is on Private Land – Wayleave payments apply to privately owned land, such as farms, estates, commercial properties, and residential land—not public highways or common land.
✅ No Permanent Easement Has Been Granted – If a previous landowner agreed to a permanent easement (a one-off lump sum payment in place of ongoing wayleave payments), you may not qualify for further payments. However, we can help review historical agreements to determine if compensation is still possible.
✅ You Are Not Already Receiving a Lump Sum Settlement – If the electricity company has not paid you a one-off settlement in place of ongoing payments, you may still be entitled to regular wayleave payments.
✅ Your Land Use Has Been Affected – If pylons, poles, or cables restrict your land’s development potential, reduce its value, or cause inconvenience, you may be eligible for additional compensation.
